Summary:
Borjomi town located in a half hour drive from Tbilisi, known for its unique healing waters, surrounded by mountains, which are covered with coniferous and deciduous forests. In Borjomi gorge there is over 200 historical monuments: castles, churches, monasteries. A special place among the monuments takes The Palace of Russian Royal Family of Romanovs.
Town Akhaltsikhe located in an hour driving from Borjomi. Not far from Akhaltsikhe located resort Abastumani,Observatory, the monastery Zarzma and the ancient city Vardzia, which is carved into the rock.
Rabati Fortress looks like an oriental fairy tale.
Meskheti is one of Georgia’s archaic winemaking regions. According to some scientists, some of the oldest Georgian varieties of grape such as Saperavi, Dzelshavi, Khikhvi, and others could have come from here. Nowadays, only the Natenadzes’ wine cellar produces very small amount of Meskhetian wine because vines only cover a small area.

Itinerary:
Legend: L – lunch, D – dinner, H – hotel, B – breakfast. We can always customize the program for you

Day1: Guided trip to Borjomi – Meskheti.(H, B, L, D). Night in Akhaltsikhe.
After the breakfast you will drive to Borjomi, where you’ll visit The Palace of Romanoff Royal Family, will have a walk in the park, will taste Borjomi water straight from the source and will have a lunch in a local restaurant. In the evening you will drive to Akhaltsikhe town.

Day2: Akhaltsikhe, Vardzia,Abastumani.(H, B, L, D). Night in Akhaltsikhe.
You’ll visit the ancient city Vardzia, which is carved into the rock, dine in the country restaurant and move to Abastumani. After walking around the resort and trips to the observatory, (in clear weather), you’ll observe the moon from a telescope. Dinner at the hotel.

Day3: Zarzma monastery.
Zarzma - is a village in Meskheti, which is known with its ancient and original monastery with the largest belfry in the country.
Return to Tbilisi.
